The area was all black as far as Nate could see, cyan eyes immediately spotting a figure far off. He didn’t know who it was, but he could somehow tell it was a woman. Getting closer, the woman had her back turn to him, long red waist length hair, wearing an elegant black dress and pale skin. Normally, whenever Nate had dreams that had people in it, they always end up somehow became less human and more…. sinister, usually facing him in with a disturbing grin on their faces before lunging at him. However, this woman still didn’t turn around despite that Nate was pretty sure she could’ve heard his footsteps.   Stopping, he suddenly felt uneasy and wanted to go back in the direction he came from, yet found he couldn’t move his feet. Looking down, he turned 50 shades paler as his feet had sank into the black ground slowly. As Nate tried to wrench his feet out of the soft ground, only to sink even faster until he chanced to look up and would have nearly fell over in surprised if he hadn’t sank up to his waist. The woman had appeared in front of him and he could see her face: beautiful, yet it was marred by a scar on her right eye, a circlet on her forehead and a cold smile. He would have been infatuated if not for the mismatched eye colors; the left an icy blue, the right coal black.  Nate was probably imagining it, but he sworn he saw horns coming out from the top of the woman’s head, only a shade darker than her hair. The woman stared at Nate arrogantly, before touching his forehead and many shadowy hands sprouted from the ground, pulling Nate into the ground. He heard the woman’s voice, similar to a low hum. You shall do for now~

Gasping, Nate awoke on cold sweats, tangled in his bedsheets. Slowly calming himself down, he reach to grab his phone from the bedside table to check the time. 4 o’clock……. in the morning and the sun wasn’t even out. Groaning in annoyance as he didn’t find himself getting back to sleep anytime soon, he started to get up to drink some warm tea. “Nate? Are you alright?” He turned to the source of the soft voice to find his friend and roommate Leah, standing in the doorway, yawning and rubbing the sleep out of her brown eyes, her short black hair in a spiky mess and doing little to hide her dog-like ears. “I heard you screaming next room over,” she mumbled, walking towards Nate’s bed. “Sorry to wake you up, Leah,” Nate responded, moving to make some space in his bed before Leah belly-flopped in and wrapped her arms around his chest. “Maybe we can talk about it when I’m fully awake and it’s not this early in the morning,” she yawned and was soon sleeping like a log. Sighing a bit, Nate settled down into his blankets and pulled it over both of them. He gave Leah a kiss on her cheek and stared up at the ceiling, still pondering about the nightmare. He could still remember the odd woman’s face and what she’d said. I will do for now? He must have eaten something bad for a weird but still freaky thing to dream about. He shuddered, still feeling the cold vice grip the many hands had on him. Letting his gaze wander around to scan his room, they landed on mostly trivial things: a desk with a bunch of paper strewn on it, an office chair with his favorite brown jacket hanging on it, the closet door, closed with a laundry basket in front of it. Setting his attention at his bookshelf that have a lot of his personal favorite novels and a few pictures when he and Leah were young, both up in their neck in mischief while he helped Leah with some of her crazy plans, playing pranks on others in fun and spectacular ways. Finding his eyes drooping with much needed sleep, he let himself drift out of consciousness, unaware of how much his nightmare will affect him, more than he thought it would.

Might as well write idea down and make it into something 'shrugs'
